Kendall AMD Antimicrobial Foam Dressings contain 0.5% Polyhexamethylene Biguanide (PHMB), a polymer known for its bacteria-killing properties. PHMB effectively targets bacteria both on and within the dressing, reducing cross-contamination and creating an environment conducive to bacteria-free wound healing. The dressing features a micro-structured, open-cell surface that absorbs exudate and utilises vertical wicking to move fluid into its core. This dense core maximises exudate retention while ensuring comfort for the user.

The foam dressing is soft and comfortable, incorporating PHMB to maintain a moist environment that resists bacterial build up. PHMB binds to the foam material, actively killing a broad spectrum of microorganisms including gram-negative, gram-positive (including MRSA and VRE), and fungi/yeast. This unique mode of action not only absorbs wound fluid but also provides protection against pathogens, limiting cross-contamination among patients, clinicians, and the environment.
