Organic Peruvian Criolla Cocoa (50%), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) (20%), Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) (10%), Maca (Lepidium meyenii) (10%), Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) and Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) (15%). (% is by weight) All ingredients organic.
Why have just a hot cocoa when you can have all these additional amazing herbs which help the nervous system and immune system in so many ways. Feel free to add more cocoa if you want a more chocolatey vibe.
Withania somnifera is often one of the first herbs used in clinic when people are presenting with symptoms of adrenal fatigue, or ongoing illness and it can support a good night’s sleep if consumed during the day. And is the main reason for this hot chocolate mix. I wanted to find away to have Ashwagandha regularly in a tasty way. I use organic Ashwagandha root and then freshly mill it so I know it hasn’t been sitting around oxidizing and I’m confident it’s what it says it is. I am currently overwintering two plants and looking forward to growing more next year.

This mix contains the true cinnamon with its wide ranging medicinal actions, warming and helps regulates blood sugar balance, be wary of products which contain cassia bark which can damage the liver. Maca is known as Peruvian ginseng and gives a lovely malty flavour. Chaga is a classic immune support medicinal mushroom with a rich but not mushroomy flavor and Cardamon definitely evident as its just so yummy along with being great for the digestion amongst other things.
