Belladonna plasters have been used for centuries to provide natural relief for aches and pains. The plasters utilize belladonna plant foliage, which is pulped into a liquid base to create an extract containing alkaloids.
These alkaloids are carefully measured and incorporated into a specialized adhesive system that is applied to a soft cotton cloth. The cloth is perforated to allow for proper skin ventilation.
The finished product is a licensed medicine recommended for:
- muscular tension and strain
- stiff neck and aching shoulders
- rheumatism
- back ache
- lumbago
- sciatica
How do Belladonna plasters work?
The alkaloids extracted from the plant act as a counter irritant increasing the blood flow to the area under the plaster. This in turn generates heat to provide targeted warming relief for aches and pains.
