Five Enzymes · Activity Declared · From 11p A Day
DigeZyme® PRO 5 Enzyme Complex Tablets
Amylase, protease, lactase, lipase and cellulase in one small 8mm tablet. Every enzyme listed with its own measured activity, not just its name on an ingredients panel.
Activity Declared, Not Just Weight
Enzymes are sold by activity, not by milligrams. A gram of a spent enzyme weighs exactly the same as a gram of an active one, so a label that gives you only the weight has told you almost nothing about what you bought.
Every enzyme in this tablet is declared with its own activity unit — DU, PC, ALU, FIP and CU. Those are the figures that actually describe the product.
Pick up most enzyme supplements and the panel reads “digestive enzyme blend, 500mg”. That number tells you how much powder is in the tablet. It tells you nothing about how much enzyme activity that powder carries, which is the only thing that distinguishes one enzyme product from another.
DigeZyme® is a branded, standardised complex. The activity of each of the five enzymes is specified and held consistent batch to batch, and because it is a named ingredient you can look it up independently rather than taking our word for it. That is the entire reason for using a named complex instead of a generic blend.
What is in one tablet
| Active | Activity | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| DigeZyme® enzyme complex | 50mg | providing the five enzymes below |
| Amylase | 1,200 DU | Dextrinizing Units |
| Protease | 300 PC | Protease Units |
| Lactase | 200 ALU | Acid Lactase Units |
| Lipase | 50 FIP | Fédération Internationale Pharmaceutique units |
| Cellulase | 10 CU | Cellulase Units |
No Nutrient Reference Value has been established for any of these enzymes, so no %NRV can be shown.
And the rest of the tablet
This is a tablet, and tablets contain excipients. You cannot press a powder into a tablet without something to bulk it out and something to stop it sticking to the tooling. Anyone selling a pressed tablet while claiming “no fillers” is telling you something that cannot be true.
| Excipient | What it is there for |
|---|---|
| Microcrystalline cellulose | Bulking agent — plant-derived cellulose |
| Dicalcium phosphate | Bulking agent |
| Magnesium stearate | Anti-caking agent — keeps the blend off the press tooling |
| Silicon dioxide | Anti-caking agent — keeps the powder flowing evenly |
We would rather list them than pretend they are not there.
Why You Won’t See Health Claims Here
Only around 220 health claims are authorised in Great Britain across every ingredient there is, and digestive enzymes are not among them. Getting one authorised takes years and a six-figure budget, and for an ingredient that anyone can buy and sell there is nobody with a commercial reason to fund it. So we let the specification speak for itself.

Questions
What do DU, PC, ALU, FIP and CU mean?
They are the standard activity units for each enzyme — Dextrinizing Units for amylase, Protease Units for protease, Acid Lactase Units for lactase, Fédération Internationale Pharmaceutique units for lipase, and Cellulase Units for cellulase. Each enzyme has its own unit because each is measured by a different assay. They are not interchangeable and you cannot add them together into one headline figure.
Why is there no %NRV on the label?
Because no Nutrient Reference Value has been established for any of these enzymes. NRVs exist only for vitamins and minerals that have one set in law. Printing a percentage where none exists would mean inventing a number.
Why does it contain magnesium stearate?
Because it is a tablet. Magnesium stearate stops the powder blend sticking to the press tooling — without it, or something doing the same job, the tablet cannot be made. We list it rather than burying it inside a “natural base”.
Is DigeZyme® different from a generic enzyme blend?
Yes. DigeZyme® is a branded, standardised complex with a specified activity for each of the five enzymes. A generic blend will often list the same five names with no activity figures against any of them, which tells you nothing about what is in the tablet.
Is it suitable for vegans?
Yes. The supplier’s specification declares it suitable for both vegans and vegetarians, and free from all 14 declarable allergens.
How long will a pack last?
At the stated dose of three tablets daily: 120 tablets is 40 days, 200 is around two months, 365 is four months, and 500 is five and a half months.
How should I store it?
Cool, dry and away from direct light, with the lid on.
