What It Is

• Belongs to a group of medicines called antispasmodics

• Works by relaxing muscles in the intestine (gut) and uterus (womb)

• Helps relieve pain caused by muscle tension

Indications

• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) – helps manage symptoms such as:

  • Tummy cramps and pains that come and go

  • Diarrhoea or constipation

  • Feeling full or bloated

  • Urgent need to go to the toilet

  • Symptoms may worsen with stress or anxiety

• Painful diverticular disease of the colon

• Relief of period pains
