This tincture is crafted from fermented raw Sceletium tortuosum, a revered succulent traditionally used in Southern African spiritual practices. Prepared as a 1:5 extract in 40% alcohol, it is made from standardized Kanna Gold herb with 1.67% total alkaloids (final tincture approx. 0.3%), featuring a dominant mesembrine profile. Offered strictly for non-ingestive ritual use, this extract is suitable for altar work, incense crafting, and symbolic meditation.

🌍 Historical & Ceremonial Significance

• Cultural Heritage: Kanna has been respected for centuries by the Khoikhoi and San peoples of Southern Africa.

• Traditional Symbolism: Known as kougoed, the traditional Khoekhoe name for the prepared plant, it was fermented and used in rites of connection, divination, and communal bonding.

• Sacred Associations: The eland antelope, often depicted in San rock art, was symbolically linked to Kanna, representing fertility, rainmaking, and spiritual presence.

Dutch explorers documented Kanna in the 17th century, noting its ceremonial role and cultural significance. Today, its legacy continues in modern ritual formats that honour traditional preparation.
