🍋 A Brief History of Citrus limonum

Lemons are believed to have originated in northern India before spreading across Persia, the Mediterranean, and eventually into European trade routes. By the Middle Ages, lemons were prized for their fragrance, culinary versatility, and ability to brighten both food and drink.

Across global culinary traditions, dried lemon peel has been used to:

• Add brightness to cakes, biscuits, and pastries

• Lift herbal teas and citrus‑forward blends

• Enhance marinades, sauces, and savoury dishes

• Bring aromatic depth to brewing and craft beverages

Its enduring popularity comes from its ability to deliver clean, concentrated citrus flavour in a stable, easy‑to‑use form.
