Lemsip Cough for Mucus Cough & Catarrh is an oral solution for acute chesty cough and catarrh associated with colds, flu and mild throat infections. Guaifenesin loosens mucus; cetylpyridinium chloride is an antiseptic.

Product features

• 180ml portable plastic bottle with a measuring cup.
• Helps loosen mucus in the throat and chest so it is easier to cough up.

Suitable for

Adults and children aged 12 years and over. Not recommended for children under 12.

How to use

1. Read the leaflet and shake the bottle well before each dose.
2. Take 5–10ml using the measuring cup, every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours or use for more than 5 days.
3. Rinse the measuring cup after use.

Warnings and precautions

• Do not take if you are allergic to any ingredient. Do not combine with any other cough or cold medicine.
• Stop use and seek advice if the cough lasts more than 5 days, returns, or occurs with fever, rash or a persistent headache.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a long-term cough, asthma, an acute asthma attack or porphyria.
• Tell your doctor before a urine test, as guaifenesin can affect results. Ask your doctor before use if you have an intolerance to some sugars.
• If you take too much, contact a doctor or pharmacist. Possible side effects include rash, swelling, wheezing, stomach pain, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting; seek advice if these occur.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Ingredients

Each 5ml contains guaifenesin 100mg and cetylpyridinium chloride 2.5mg. Other ingredients: purified water, glycerol, ethanol, levomenthol, liquid sorbitol (E420), saccharin sodium, sodium cyclamate, povidone, custard, raspberry and blackberry flavours. Contains sodium.

Storage

Store below 25°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Do not use after the expiry date on the bottle; return expired medicine to a pharmacy for disposal.
