They are a silicone-based, long-lasting, non-sting medical grade liquid that forms a protective uniform coating on the skin when evenly applied. They are intended to protect both wounded and intact skin from the harmful effects of moisture, irritants, and potential skin injury caused by the use of adhesive wound dressings or pouches. It is intended to be used as the principal barrier against bodily fluid irritation.

Medi Derma-S Barrier Film Sterile Applicators provide long-lasting protection, a hydrophobic protective barrier (up to 72 hours) against moisture-related skin damage, and a non-sting formulation that protects both damaged and intact skin. It protects skin from exudates and adhesives, preventing damage and maceration. It also does not interfere with the adhesion of dressings, pouches, or adhesive devices.
