Our Mugwort smudge sticks are carefully bundled from dried mugwort leaves and stems and hand-tied with cotton string. They make a lovely addition to meditation spaces, altars, incense collections and ceremonial settings.

Mugwort has a long history in European and Asian folklore, where it was traditionally burned in seasonal rites, hung over doorways and placed beneath pillows as part of dream rituals. When burned, it releases a soft, herbaceous aroma with earthy, slightly sweet notes.

How to Use

Light the tip of the bundle, let it catch for a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame so the leaves smoulder and release their aromatic smoke. Hold over or rest in a heatproof dish, such as an abalone shell or ceramic bowl. To finish, press the lit end gently into sand or the dish until fully extinguished.
