Since the launch of MyAcu Eco-Moxa Guide Tube Acupuncture Needles in 2024, we’ve been overwhelmed by the love and support from so many wonderful people. Your enthusiasm for our world-first invention—the 100% industrially compostable guide tubes—has inspired us to keep pushing forward in our eco-mission to reduce the carbon footprint of acupuncture products.
We’re deeply grateful for every comment, suggestion, and shared story. We’ve listened to your feedback and understood your desire for even fewer guide tubes and an even more eco-conscious approach.
Introducing the 2nd Generation Eco-Moxa Guide Tube Needles:
- Now available in 500 needles/box and 1000 needles/box options.
- Guide tubes reduced to just 8 per box, packed in 4 compact eco-pouches (2 tubes per pouch).
- Plastic foam removed from the bottom of the pouch, making it even smaller and greener.
- Box packaging has been downsized, using significantly less paper and plastic.
The result? Same exceptional quality, now in an even more eco-friendly package. This is another step forward in sustainable acupuncture, thanks to you. Together, we’re making a difference—one needle at a time!
Innovative Plant-Based Guide Tubes
Plant-based, Compostable, Non-Petrochemical, Non-Plastic Guide Tubes, primarily made of moxa, ensure recyclability and industry composability while reducing the environmental impact of plastic guide tubes.
High Quality Japanese Medical Steel Wire
MyAcu acupuncture needles are crafted using high-quality Japanese medical steel wire, oil-tempered for increased strength. They undergo meticulous shaping, cutting, and polishing to maintain exceptional sharpness, undergoing rigorous four-stage quality control.
Medical-Grade Silicone Oil Coating
Medical-grade silicone oil, similar to that used in surgical equipment, is applied to the needles to enhance needling ease for practitioners and patient comfort.
Recycled Material
Emphasize environmental responsibility with blister packaging made from R-PET recycled water bottle material, which can itself be recycled again
Cardboard boxes
Our boxes are made of recycled cardboard and embossed instead of printed to reduce ink use
4-Stage Quality Control Process
1. We use Japanese medical steel wire which is oil-tempered to increase its strength. This is stretched and shaped before being cut and polished to a very fine taper, and goes through its first quality control check
2.Next the needle is connected to the handle. Our handles are not electroplated with copper, as this process produces toxic chemical byproducts. Then the needles are ‘washed’ with ultrasound which removes dust, oil or any other manufacturing debris.
3. Then the needles are coated in a medical grade silicone oil, the same material used on scalpers and other surgical equipment. This facilitates ease of needling for the practitioner and a relaxing treatment experience for the patient.
4. After another quality control check they are packed into boxes, after which the boxes, packaging and needles themselves are all sanitized using either EO gas or gamma radiation.
