Pau D’Arco is a tree native to the Amazon rainforest and other tropical regions of South and Central America. For generations, the inner bark has been valued in traditional herbalism for its wide-ranging supportive properties.
Traditionally used to support:
- Immune and digestive health
- Healthy gut flora balance
- Occasional stomach discomfort and gastritis
- Liver and blood health
- Respiratory wellness
- Joint comfort
- Skin health (boils, wounds)
- General vitality and as a tonic
Many people turn to Pau D’Arco during cleansing and detox routines — I drink it myself during my cleanses.
Why our bags?
Each tea bag is a double brew size — use one bag for a single strong, earthy cup, or steep it twice for two regular servings. Our bags are made from unbleached paper with no plastic, so your brew stays clean from bag to cup.
How to brew your Pau D’Arco tea
For the best results, Pau D’Arco benefits from a longer steep — the compounds in the bark need time to infuse.
For one strong cup:
- Boil fresh water
- Pour over one tea bag in your favourite mug.
- Steep for 5–10 minutes — the longer you leave it, the stronger and more earthy the flavour.
- Remove the bag, give it a gentle squeeze, and enjoy.
For two regular cups:
- Boil fresh water and pour over one tea bag as above.
- Steep for 3–4 minutes, then remove the bag and pour into your first cup.
- Reuse the same bag — pour fresh boiling water over it and steep for 4–5 minutes for your second cup.
Pau D’Arco can be served hot or iced. Sweeten with honey or a squeeze of lemon if desired.
