Violet leaf is an absolute made from the leaves of the plant, which produces a rich green liquid with a strong leafy aroma resembling cut cucumbers or grass. Violet leaf absolute is relatively thick in its consistency and can be quite difficult to dispense through the dropper. If you do wish to get some out of the bottle, you may want to remove the dropper and use a glass rod. In cool weather you will need to gently warm the bottle as it can become almost solid.
Beware that some violet leaf oils on the market have been adulterated with spinach.
