Holy grass, widely known as sweetgrass, has a long and respected place in the traditions of many Indigenous peoples of North America, and in Europe it was once strewn in churches on holy days – which gave it its name. When burned, it releases a soft, sweet aroma with warm, vanilla-like notes, a gentle contrast to the stronger scent of sage.

How to Use

Light the tip of the bundle, let it catch for a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame so the grass smoulders and releases its aromatic smoke. Hold over or rest in a heatproof dish, such as an abalone shell or ceramic bowl. To finish, press the lit end gently into sand or the dish until fully extinguished.
